If you are an aspiring guitarist or someone who has been performing for a while now, you should know that it should not end with simply becoming better with your craft. You also have to learn to properly take care of your prized possession.
- Do Not Lay It Down On The Ground: Refrain from putting your guitar on the ground when you are not playing it or cleaning it. Always make it a point to keep your guitar in its guitar case, a gig bag or hang it on the wall.
- Do Regular Maintenance: Loosening the strings of your electric guitar allows you to clean the dusts which may have accumulated beneath the strings. On the other hand, if you have an acoustic guitar you just need to loosen them enough that you can have your cloth reach the underside of the string without you having too much trouble. If for example you have a Stratocaster-kind of electric guitar then you may want to check the nut on the socket. It may have loosened and if so, you should tighten it using some pliers so it will not easily loosen.
- Have A Guitar Case: This is very important especially if you will be bringing your fender squier at musicians friend in various places. The last thing that you want to happen is for your guitar to accidentally be hit to some structure or obstruction which may dent it or at the worse, break it.
Every guitarist should learn how to properly take care of his guitars and should not take them for granted if they expect their guitars to last for a longer period of time.
